Sue finished her conference business about 3 pm.  I made a booking for dinner at the Griffins pub, just a few metres away from the hotel.  They start serving at 5:30, which is still quite late (8 pm) if you're trying to stay on New Zealand time.  It is quite unusual to find a time zone where the hours strike 30 minutes off the rest of the world.  Fish and chips, barramundi and salad, and two large cold beers went down nicely.

Arrival in Adelaide

Flew into Adelaide from Auckland, adjusting back in time 2 hours 30 minutes, arriving 10:20 am local time.  We were surprised how close the landing approach took us to the city centre, providing a great view over North Terrace and the Adelaide Oval.  Came in over picturesque vineyards nestling in the nearby hills, bordering on a flat expanse occupied by the city and suburbs.

It's a beautiful fine day, 24 degrees with no wind.  On 14th floor of the Crowne Plaza Hotel, with a little balcony looking south over the city and the city park below us.
