Parc d'Acclimatation

Share
This is a large park in the north end of the Bois de Boulogne, largely designed to entertain children but also very pleasant for a stroll in the park for all ages.  It was opened in 1860 by Napoleon III.  I visited the Louis Vetton centre again (it was closed when I went last year), and my ticket also gave me entry to this park, which is next door, and I ended up spending more time in the park than in the galleries of the Louis Vetton.

The Lois Vetton building - super complicated, and huge.
There are great views from the top levels.
A few of the thousands of complex joints holding it up.
I travelled on my cheap rental "Velib" bicycle, courtesy of the Paris authorities.  This time I dared to ride on the road some of the time, and found that drivers gave me a safe wide berth when they passed, even the buses.  I suppose they recognise the hazard I pose, at my advanced age.

My trusty Velib bicycle.
There were lots of cows in the park.
Also some real animals.
The chinese dragon roller coaster flying past.
A very pleasant park.
