(I've caught a cold so am staying in today, to catch up with the blog...)
Again we have sailed overnight on a large ferry, this time from Copenhagen to Oslo (Denmark to Norway) taking over 17 hours. We traversed quite sheltered waters, with lots of islands and never far from the mainland, so the trip was very smooth. Our cabin was virtually the same as on the previous ship, with windows to take in the view. Having windows means we had de-luxe cabins, as most cabins do not. It has become clear that our Nordic Visitor tour company has booked very nice hotels and cabins for us - much flasher than we would have booked if doing it directly. Anyway it does mean we are travelling very comfortably and getting excellent service.
As we entered Oslo harbour we could see a lot of modern architecture on display, including lots of waterfront apartments as you will see in many cities now. The weather is still great, with up to 25 C expected today and clear skies. The taxi driver said that summer has just started, as it was cold and wet last week. It seems our timing is good.
