More from Barcelona

Share

(about 31 March) There was quite a lot more to our Barcelona week than shown in my last Barcelona post, so here are more photos.  We had a "Gaudi day", when we visited several of Gaudi's famous sites - the houses Casa Battlo and Casa Mila; the park Parc Guell; and the famous unfinished Sagrada Famila church.  He had an extraordinary influence in the city, about one hundred years ago, and today these are among the popular tourist attractions in Barcelona.

Our day was rather wet unfortunately, but we still got to see most of what we came for.  Lisa and Adam persevered on the open-top bus as the rain bucketed down, all alone.

The Hop-on Hop-off bus.

Casa Mila from across the street.

Quite a few dogs travel about in backpacks on bikes!

At the famous Boqueria market.

Steelwork on the front of another Gaudi house, Palau Guell.

The (Barcelona) Arc de Triomf.

Neptune's very ornate fountain.  Unfortunately it was dry today.
The monstrous Sagrada Familia church.

Inside the Sagrada Familia.

Our flamenco night out.  They are all extremely loud and energetic!

Lisa and Adam toured Casa Battlo; we did Casa Mila.

Inside the attic of Casa Mila.

Out on the roof of Casa Mila, which is anything but flat!

The Casa Mila rooftop.

Looking out to Sagrada Familia rising about the city.

Park Guell again

Dinner at a paella restaurant recommended by Lisa's workmate.

Our Barcelona Airbnb was quite sunny and comfortable.
