Rhonda is a white town built on the edge of a deep ravine and atop precipitous cliffs. The ravine is spanned by an enormous bridge, as well as by a couple of older smaller ones, the oldest of which is Roman.

Today it seems a crazy place to build a town, but of course it was all about defence when they built this. It was a public holiday and the streets were full of people, and Christmas decorations have started to appear.

We followed a long path right down to the bottom of the gorge and under the bridge. Coming up again was a good way to warm up on another fine but chilly day.
