The AVE

The AVE is the Spanish high-speed train.  We left Barcelona in the dark this morning and are now speeding west at 300 kph into the heart of Spain, for Madrid.  That will be just a brief stop on our way to Malaga on the south coast near Gibraltar.  Will keep you posted.

Update: The train did not actually go into Madrid, just skimmed past on the outskirts without stopping.  We'll have to wait.
